Refurbishment and ground floor rear extension to an Edwardian terrace house in Chingford, to provide a growing family with improved kitchen, dining and living areas connected to the rear garden. The north facing extension looks to maximise internal daylight levels, whilst retaining privacy from surrounding properties by introducing long clerestory windows, large strategically placed roof lights and a fully glazed external courtyard nestled within the centre of the development.

The exposed timber roof structure and timber framed courtyard will provide a warming internal atmosphere that complements the striking charred timber external cladding.
